Jigsaw will be opening a new store in Cheltenham at the end of the month in a Grade II building that has remained empty for four years.

The store is based at 62/64 The Promenade, Cheltenham and was formerly occupied by Austin Reed and covers 1,356 sq ft. It has been designed by AMD Architects and is promising a true boutique feel.

Upcycled furnishings, curved walls and neutral tones, along with lounging areas, will service to enhance the homely feel of a boutique mixed with a showroom.

Jigsaw is also collaborating with artists such as applied glass artist Cas Pollen and Palefire Studio Lighting, and the store will feature three light sculptures from artist and designer Isamu Noguchi.

Vicki Baker, Head of Retail explains: “To see Jigsaw return to Cheltenham feels as if we are returning to our heartland, we know the spa town of Cheltenham is rightly famous for its stunning architecture and to see Jigsaw take the old Austin Reed store that has remained derelict for so many years and support in restoring this store to its former glory feels more fitting than ever.

"Cheltenham has begun to build a reputation as being a festival town – known for the Cheltenham literature festival, jazz and so much more. In our ambition to embed ourselves with what is important to each community we are excited for the opportunities Cheltenham presents. Jigsaw's aim is that this store will become so much more than a retail space, it will be used to hold regular events to bring the community together. We know there is a real appetite to see Jigsaw return and we can’t wait to welcome our customers new and old back to the store!”

The opening will take place on 29 September and until 2 October, Jigsaw will be offering a gift with every purchase from card holders to bespoke Jigsaw x Cheltenham canvas totes plus drinks and treats will be served in-store.

This latest store follows on from the recent opening of a new store in London St Pancras.
