Jigsaw Retail Director exits weeks after appointment
Lisa Butler has confirmed her departure from Jigsaw just weeks after joining the business as Retail Director.
In a statement shared on LinkedIn, Butler said that “after careful consideration”, she had decided to step away from the role shortly after her appointment. She described the decision as difficult, particularly given the positive reception she received when joining the company.
“I am incredibly grateful to everyone who reached out with such warmth and encouragement,” she said.
“I would also like to thank the retail teams I had the privilege of meeting. Your energy, commitment and welcome were exceptional, and I have huge respect for the work you do every day in what continues to be a challenging retail environment.
Butler indicated that her decision was influenced by a mismatch in working environment.
"Throughout my career, I have always believed that strong performance and commercial success must go hand in hand with respect, integrity and kindness. These are non-negotiables for me as a leader, and ultimately, I did not feel that the environment was the right fit for me to continue and do my best work," Butler said.
With over 30 years of experience in retail, Butler noted that she remains committed to fostering strong performance and positive workplace cultures, particularly in a sector facing ongoing pressures.
"I am now taking some time to reflect before moving into my next chapter, and I look forward to what comes next," she added.
"Thank you again to those who have supported me - I’m excited for the future."
Butler joined Jigsaw following a brief tenure at Russell & Bromley, where she served as Global Retail Director from September 2025. Prior to that, she held the same role at Trinny London for over six years and previously worked as a Regional Manager at Space NK.
Tikki Godley, Managing Director of Jigsaw, said: "We thank Lisa for her contribution in laying the groundwork for Jigsaw's bricks and mortar expansion. Jigsaw has its sights set on an ambitious 2026, in which we expect to increase our existing portfolio of 43 branches by nearly a quarter. Our retail team will be continuing this excellent work on this next phase of expansion."
