Jigsaw appoints new Retail Director to drive store expansion
Jigsaw has appointed Chris Browne as Retail Director to lead the next phase of its bricks-and-mortar expansion.
Browne brings experience in store development, property strategy and building retail teams across international markets.
He joins the business after a 30-year tenure at Ted Baker, where he served as Global Retail Director.
During his time at Ted Baker, Browne oversaw the expansion of the brand’s retail estate from eight stores to more than 500 locations globally, including growth into North America, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and Europe.
He also led a direct team of 128 people across five regional offices, alongside a wider retail workforce of more than 3,000.
The appointment comes as Jigsaw progresses its UK growth plans, having appointed property agency Colliers to identify 10 new store locations in Central London and across the UK.
If completed, the expansion would increase the retailer’s current portfolio of 43 standalone stores by nearly a quarter.
The plans follow a period of improved trading performance, with the company reporting a 26% year-on-year increase in Christmas sales and a 35% improvement in profit margins.
