JD Sports non-executive director steps down
JD Sports Fashion non-executive director Mahbobeh Sabetnia is stepping down from her role in June, after two and a half years.
Having also been a member of the remuneration committee since November 2021, serving on the board, she has decided to not stand for re-election at the company’s annual general meeting on 27 June 2024.
Andy Higginso, Chair at JD Sports Fashion, said: "Mahbobeh has made a valuable contribution to the board and in her role as a member of the remuneration committee. On behalf of the board, I would like to thank her for her time and wish her every success for the future."
The board is starting a process to identify and appoint a new independent non-executive director shortly and "will provide an update in due course".
It comes after JD Sports outperformed a "challenging market" with 4% like-for-like sales growth in the financial year to 3 February 2024 as it hopes for a boost from a "busy sporting summer" this year.
