JD Sports COO Sherilyn Paterson exits
JD Sports Chief Operating Officer Sherilyn Paterson has stepped down after 12 years at the business, working across various roles.
Having first joined in 2012 as Merchandising Director, Paterson was later promoted to Chief Operating Officer in February 2023. She also served as Group Operations Director until August 2023.
Prior to JD Sports, she held a number of senior merchandising roles at various fashion brands, including Kurt Geiger, Topshop, Burton, Miss Selfridge, Matalan, and Debenhams.
The news comes after JD Sports hailed a "strong" performance in a "challenging market", despite revealing a dip in profits for the year to 27 January. Revenues increased 2.7% to £10.4 billion.
The group was boosted by the opening of more than 200 shops, with plans to open a further 200 over the current financial year.
Its new stores have seen sales surpass expectations by around a fifth since opening, JD Sports told investors at the time.
However, it added that this was partly offset by disposals after the company sold off five of its fashion brands – Tessuti, Scotts, Choice, Giulio and Cricket – to rival Frasers Group.
