Jasper Conran launches handbag collection for wholesale and direct-to-consumer

English designer Jasper Conran is launching a new collection of women’s handbags and purses under the Jasper Conran London brand name, which will be available for wholesale distribution through the JOOR platform from 15 February, 2021.

The offer will also be available through a direct-to-consumer ecommerce website from July, 2021, with some products being exclusive to the Jasper Conran London site.

The launch of the new collection builds on the consistent commercial success of the "J by Jasper Conran" licence brand of women’s and men’s clothing and accessories with Debenhams. "J by Jasper Conran" grew a loyal following through Debenhams over many years, but sadly the 242-year-old department store business fell in to liquidation on 1 December, 2020.

Jasper Conran said: “I am very pleased to announce the launch of the new 'Jasper Conran London’ brand with a range of handbags and purses. This collection is designed with all the elements that are at the very heart of my design ethos, contemporary styling, bold colour and outstanding quality at accessible prices. I am delighted to bring this range to the market and to our loyal customers.”

With a nod to the demise of Debenhams, a statement reads: “This new brand gives us the opportunity to review how we operate, and without the constraints of existing stocks or stores we have the opportunity to be nimble and also to react to the new world we live in.”

Designed in Conran’s London Studio, the new handbags and purses will have accessible price points, ranging from £49 to £250 retail.

Focusing on both functionality and aesthetics, the range offers leather and non-leather options that have been manufactured with sustainability in mind.
