Jack Wolfskin is being acquired by Anta Sports for $290 million from sports equipment company Topgolf Callaway, marking another step forward in the group’s global expansion strategy.

The transaction is expected to close in the late second quarter or early third quarter of 2025 and is subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of certain regulatory approvals.

It will allow Topgolf Callaway to focus on its core business of golf, with CEO and President Chip Brewer revealing that the proceeds from the deal will further enhance its balance sheet and liquidity.

"We believe Anta Sports will be a good steward of Jack Wolfskin and we thank our employees who have worked diligently to right-size the business and prepare it for this next chapter," Brewer added.

The acquisition by Anta Sports aligns with its "single-focus, multi-brand, globalisation" strategy and presents opportunities to further strengthen and to grow the group’s outdoor sports segment.

It complements the company's existing brand portfolio, including Arc’teryx, Salomon and Wilson, extending its outdoor product offering from premium to mass market while enriching product solutions for a broader set of outdoor activities.

By leveraging Jack Wolfskin’s strengths, Anta Sports also acknowledges the potential to "unlock various synergies in supply chain, product development, retail operation and other areas post-closing".

Founded in 1981, Jack Wolfskin develops professional outdoor products targeted at the active outdoor and urban outdoor customer categories, spanning hiking, bike, ski and camping.

Its products are known for their functionality, high quality and innovation, harnessing German engineering, technology and design.
