International designers, brands and fashion companies have come out in droves to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, who sadly passed away at the age of 96 yesterday, 8 September 2022. Here’s some of the touching words of sympathy and respect for the “longest reigning British monarch in history”.

Ralph Lauren

“We join the people of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the entire world mourning the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

She was an inspiration to the world in so many ways – a monarch and a wife, mother, and grandmother committed to her family – and most of all, a woman who inspired us with her unwavering commitment to lead with dignity, optimism, and love for her country.”

Gucci

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. True grace is rare and will be felt most profoundly through the remembrance of her dignity, strength and hope. Our sincerest condolences are with the Royal Family and all those who loved her around the world.”

Dior

“It is with great sadness that the House learned of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The United Kingdom has long occupied a special place in the heritage of our House, a source of inspiration celebrated by the founding couturier and his successors. We extend our sincerest sympathies to the Royal Family and our British friends.”

Giorgio Armani

“Imagining all of a sudden the world without Elizabeth II, Queen Elizabeth in the collective imagination, is very difficult for me, and so I think it is for all those who, in these long years of reign, have become fond of her even though they are not British. The idea of the monarchy always makes one dream: it is linked to history, and to fairy tales.

“Elizabeth II represented the epitome of the queen: balanced, loyal, unfazed despite the inevitable scandals, she was symbolic even in the smallest gesture. As a designer I have always admired her very personal way of dressing and communicating as well as her reserve. I would never have changed anything about her. It saddens me to hear of her loss.”

Karl Lagerfeld

“The Maison Karl Lagerfeld is deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and shares its heartfelt condolences with the Royal Family and all those around the world who loved her.

“Her Royal Highness was an inspiration in many ways: a leader, a dignitary, a mother, a style icon, and the longest-reigning British monarch in history. May she rest in peace.”

Chanel

“This is a time of great sadness and national mourning following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch in British history. We joint the Royal Family and all those around the world who are mourning her.

“She was unique, dedicating her life to service and will remain an inspiration to many.”

LVMH Group

“The LVMH Group sends its sincere condolences to the Royal Family, the people across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, for the passing of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II. Her constant and strong sense of duty will remain an inspiration throughout the world.”

Valentino

“On behalf of the entire Valentino community we extend our deepest condolences to the Royal Family and everyone who loved Her Majesty The Queen.

“She left an indelible mark on the world and will be remembered fondly for her strength, dignity and commitment to her country.”

Tiffany & Co.

“We join the people of the United Kingdom and the world in mourning the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II."

Yesterday a raft of British fashion brands and retailers issued tributes to The Queen and a number of retailers, including Selfridges and Liberty are remaining closed today as a mark of respect.
