Founded by Nathan Swartz in 1928, Timberland is an American outdoor retailer with a focus on footwear. The company also sells apparel including clothes, watches, glasses, sunglasses and leather goods.
In June 2011, Timberland signed a takeover agreement with VF Corporation at approximately $2 billion.
