American luxury footwear label Stuart Weitzman was founded in 1986 by its eponymous director. The company’s tipping point was in 2002 when Weitzman produced in collaboration with a diamond company, a one-of-a-kind pair of sandals encrusted with 464 diamonds with an 18-carat diamond hanging in the center each for Oscar Nominee actress Laura Harring.
In 2015, the company was sold to the Coach group, now known as Tapestry, with Weitzman as designer for the brand.
