Founded in 2002 by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Proenza Schouler is an American womenswear and accessory brand. The label has been honoured with a total of five CFDA awards as well as being featured in the MET’s exhibition Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology in 2016.
In 2011, the Valentino Fashion Group bought a 45 percent stake in the brand and Castanea Partners acquired a minority interest. Only last year, McCollough and Hernandez managed to buy back the company’s shares, reclaiming full ownership of the label. The brand is famous for its collaborations with companies including Barney’s New York and MAC Cosmetics.
