Hawes & Curtis was founded by Ralph Hawes and George Frederick Curtis. They opened their first store at 24 Piccadilly Arcade in February 1913. Notable customers over the years included the Duke of Windsor, Cary Grant, Clark Gable, Bing Crosby, Lord Mountbatten, Frank Sinatra and Fred Astaire.
Entrepreneur, Touker Suleyman, bought Hawes & Curtis for £1 in 2001 and has subsequently transformed it into a global, multichannel business with additional German, Australian and American websites. Hawes & Curtis are known for their formal work shirting.
