Founded in the 1970s by Dick Hayne, Free People is an American fashion brand catering for women in their 20s and specialising in ready-to-wear, accessories, bags, footwear, sportswear and beauty.

The brand opened its first boutique in Paramus, New Jersey in 2002 and now has more than 130 stores around the world. In 2012 the company launched a Free People UK site followed by a Free People China site in 2014.
