Founded by Neil Prosser in 1976, Flannels is a British chain of high-end designer stores in the specialising in luxury fashion clothing, shoes and accessories for both men and women. The first Manchester-based flagship store opened in 1987 introduced, for the first time, new labels to the city - such as Giorgio Armani and Paul Smith.

In 2012, Sports Direct bought a majority 51% stake in Flannels. The retailer is currently explanding with new stores coming online this year including Oxford Street Ipswich, Sutton, Chester, York and Newcastle.
