Description:

Dolce & Gabbana is in Italian luxury fashion house founded by designer duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in 1985 who created glamorous designs inspired by their southern Italian roots. The so-called Sicilian dress, a form-fitting design with built-in bra features in each of their collections.

The label rose to prominence in the 1980s and 1990s when Italian labels were riding a crest of a popularity wave and the pair worked with high profile celebrities, including Madonna. Dolce & Gabbana have famously said the brand will die when they do and they have rejected all offers to buy the company which achieved sales of €1.3bn in 2017.

The brand has recently been hit with controversy, however, as a culturally insensitive ad targeting the Chinese market led to calls for consumers to boycott the brand.
