Founded by Joan Burstein and husband Sidney in 1970, Browns is perhaps the UK’s best known designer fashion boutique taking up several units on London’s South Molton Street.
The company is known for discovering talents such as John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane whilst also bringing designers such as Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and Jil Sander to London.
In 2015, Browns was acquired by global online fashion group Farfetch, which used Browns as a test bed for its omichannel Store of the Future technology. The company now has two boutiques in London (Browns East opened in Shoreditch in October 2017) as well as an online shop.
