Instagram launches "Shop" account showcasing shoppable brands and creators
Instagram has just announced the launch of a new account @shop, created for a community of people who love to shop.
The account allows users to discover shoppable brands as well as being a celebration of small businesses and the creators behind them. The new profile is a real-time reflection of community’s interests across top shopping categories like fashion, beauty, home decor and more.
It includes various emerging brands and products such as Feel Jeans, Glossier Play Colorslide, Mented Cosmetics, as well as all the latest trends. Every product featured on @shop includes product tags which allows users to easily tap to shop.
The news follows last week's announcement about Instagram adding a new shoppable feature which will allow users to shop directly from creators. Instead of taking a screenshot or asking for product details in comments or Direct, everyone will be able to tap the image to see what creators are wearing and buy it on the spot.
