Instagram adds shopping function to Stories

Instagram has made its Stories function shoppable, following on from the introduction of shoppable tags in posts in March of this year.

From now on if an Instagram user sees a sticker with a shopping bag icon on a Story they can tap on it to see more details about that product, and proceed to purchase. Select brands, such as Louis Vuitton and adidas, are the first to use the function with more rolling out soon.

"Shoppers on Instagram are savvy. They visit Instagram looking for the latest trends and styles. With 300m using Instagram Stories everyday, people are increasingly finding new products from brands they love. In a recent survey, Instagrammers said they often watch stories to stay in the-know with brands they’re interested in, get an insider view of products they like, and find out about new products that are relevant to them," the social media giant said.
