By partnering with Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), InPost lockers make sending and receiving packages part and parcel with commuters' journeys.

The initiative will include the completion of 28 parcel lockers at bus and Metrolink stations across Greater Manchester by the end of 2022. Leading European eCommerce delivery company InPost plan to continue expanding across the area in 2023, working hand in hand with TfGM’s green initiative to reduce carbon output.

Following the London Underground which boasts 5.6 million journeys made daily, TfGM is the second largest local transport network in the UK with 99 Metrolink stops.

By installing InPost lockers around the Greater Manchester area, TfGM aims to reaffirm the importance of stations as local community hubs. Mike Mellor, Head of Commercial at TfGM, commented: “The rollout of InPost Lockers at Metrolink stops and interchanges across Greater Manchester provides customers with a quick and easy way to collect and return parcels as part of their daily commute or journey across the network. TfGM has adopted an approach to develop new sustainable revenue streams through commercial partnerships for reinvestment into transport services.”

Unlike traditional post offices, InPost lockers are available 24/7, providing convenient and accessible means of returning or collecting packages as they embark or return on their daily commutes. Focusing on what customers needs, the business ensures waiting in long queues at the post office is no more. This is particularly efficient in the upcoming weeks to Christmas, making the party season hassle-free.

Michael Rouse, CEO of InPost International, added: “We’re rapidly growing our network of 4,000+ parcel lockers in the UK and the partnership with TfGM marks another significant milestone for our business. It’s also an important step towards our goal of making parcel collections and returns fuss-free for everyone.”

Sustainability is at the heart of InPost's business model, contributing to positive environmental change. The company is aiming towards net zero targets by 2040.
