Day one of the INDX Womenswear & Footwear show at Cranmore Park Conference and Exhibition Centre in Solihull got off to a positive start yesterday, with exhibitors happy with footfall despite the disruptions caused by the national rail strike.

Exhibitors will be hoping the momentum continues throughout the final day of the show today, 28 July, as INDX fairs are largely seen as important order writing shows.

Fay Derricott, INDX Brand Selector and AIS Senior Womenswear Buyer, said: “AIS members and attending retailers have been keen to see our portfolio of brands which are ‘curated by buyers for buyers’.

“Our focus at this show is to bring together an inclusive selection of brands and to broaden the options for our visiting buyers, so as well as presenting big brands such as Sandwich, Sahara, Weird Fish, Geox, Lily & Me, b.young, Lizabella and Mistral, we are also hosting a selection of debuts.

“New brands to INDX this year include Dorset based My Mother’s Garden with their distinctive Kimono collections, the European urban lifestyle brand Redraft, launching exclusively at INDX, SugarLane with its commitment to recycled plastic, and the Wortmann footwear powerhouse, who are presenting their comprehensive brand offer: Jana, s.Oliver, Marco Tozzi, and Tamaris and Caprice.

“We pride ourselves on maintaining our order-writing status and we are delighted that brands continue to recognise the show as a great business opportunity.”

Stephen Nunn from exhibiting brand Lizabella commented: “We’re returning to INDX Womenswear & Footwear with Lizabella for our fifth season because we see a good customer base here who are keen to actually write orders. The show has a more intimate feel and as a result, the business we do here is great.”

Natalie Hurrell, exhibiting at the show with Sandwich, said: “INDX Womenswear & Footwear has given us a great opportunity to showcase the Sandwich brand in a relaxed and professional environment. We have launched our spring 2023 collection at this show with very positive feedback. We have enjoyed meeting both new and existing customers with great opportunities to network and put Sandwich back on the map.”

The INDX brand is brought to market by leading UK buying group Associated Independent Stores (AIS) which successfully delivers 20 shows per year across fashion and home sectors.

Upcoming dates include Accessories (25-27 September) and Sports & Leisure (7-8 December) and for 2023, confirmed dates include Kidswear (29-30 January), Womenswear & Footwear (1-2 February), Menswear & Footwear (5-7 February) and Intimate Apparel (12-14 February).
