Inditex opens UK's first Oysho store in Westfield London
The sports brand of the Inditex group, Oysho, has announced the opening of its first store in the UK at Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush.
In a brief statement, the brand reveals its expansion plans are due to "reaffirming the impulse towards the world of sports and consolidating the renewed image of the brand and its new concept of shopping experience".
The new 3,500 sq ft retail space is divided into two floors and boasts an eight-meter high glass façade. The floors host separate collections, with the first exhibiting technical sportswear, and the second home to everyday items of clothing.
Three self-payment terminals have been installed in the retail space, allowing shoppers to independently complete their purchases. Click and collect is also available on site.
Oysho’s London opening is part of its global expansion, with the addition of 457 stores in 56 markets. It has a brick-and-mortar presence in 48 countries and is available online in 169 countries. The retailer’s owner, Inditex, manages more than 100 physical locations in the United Kingdom, half of which are Zara stores.
This follows the recent news that Zara is set to expand its presence at Westfield Stratford and open another unit at the shopping destination. Work on the new store has already commenced, with work underway internally and new signage installed outside the retail unit.
