Inditex is continuing to expand its facilities in Arteixo, northwestern Spain, announcing plans to invest €238m (£199.9m) in new headquarters to house Zara’s sales and design teams.

Construction is expected to commence in January, subject to the necessary permissions, and will continue until 2024.

The new facilities, which will feature broad open spaces and extensive sustainability credentials, have been designed to reinforce an open work dynamics between designers, pattern-makers and sales professionals, articulated around open collaboration and communication.

Each of the sales teams’ floors will have two large, connected work areas, each spanning 9,500 m2.

The ground floor will host pilot stores for each Zara section and the pattern-making area, with floor 1 housing Zara Man, floor 2 for Zara Kids and floors 3 and 4 dedicated to Zara Woman.

The new building will also be fitted with a next-generation facility management system to ensure that its various elements adapt in response to indoor and outdoor temperatures and air quality.
