Welcome to the first edition of our new and exclusive brand & retail tracker – The Index. Each month we will be tracking how the UK fashion consumer shops (their preferred sectors, channels and retail formats) and which specific brands and retailers they are visiting and buying from.

Furthermore we will be tracking their sentiment towards 100 of the fashion industry's biggest names, from value players to sports specialists, luxury stores and pureplay etailers via our unique "Buzz Scores".

This is an industry first that over time will show the underlying trends in consumer behaviour and changing attitudes to brands and sectors.

Created from data derived from 2,000 British consumers and compiled by market research specialists Savanta, this unique study will help brands and retailers hone their strategies and benchmark their performance against rivals and leading industry players.
