In the know: Just Around The Corner (JATC) womenswear show

Off the back of a successful JATC men’s show at The Boiler House in east London’s Brick Lane on 19-21 July, 2021, Juls Dawson, Managing Director and owner of sales agency Just Consultancies and JATC, has been buoyed enough to add a womenswear edition this September.

In a quickfire Q&A, Dawson gives us the details.

Why have you now decided to do a womenswear version of JATC?

Building on the momentum of the industry opening back up, coupled with the reaction of the recent men’s Just Around The Corner (JATC), we decided that we will now be holding a women’s edition on 7-9 September at The Old Truman Brewery’s U BLOCK, situated mid-way down Brick Lane with a large entrance directly onto the world renowned street. This ground floor warehouse style building benefits from high ceilings and polished concrete flooring allowing plenty of space for brands and visitors alike, with its pillarless space and industrial character features.

What brands will you be showing that you represent for womenswear? And what other brands will be there?

I will be there with Ichi, Atelier Reve, Night, Juicy Couture, Fila, Jogg Concept and Kickers apparel, and other brands which will be there are B Young, Fransa, St Tropez, Good News, Artsac, Laines, James Steward, Hope and Ivy, Religion, Doughnut, Dedicated, Ucon Acrobactics, Louche, Anonyme, Kylie and Kenner, eb&eve, Haven and Nu-Denmark. So, there’s 25 confirmed brands so far, but we are expecting over 50 in total.

What does this mean for the other women's shows such as Pure and Scoop [which are staging a combined show on 7-9 September at the Old Truman Brewery]?

Hopefully, as the dates cross over with JATC and all the women’s shows are in the same vicinity, we will all benefit from increased reach and traffic in this part of London.

Do you think you have seen an opportunity for a new London show?

There is room in the market place for a new and fresh concept that is offering something back to the brands and agencies by providing accessible pricing, coupled with a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.

What’s the real appeal of JATC?

Key components that have added to JATC’s successful formula include pared back stands where the product does the talking and also added elements such as offering complimentary food, coffee and bubbles.
