In Pictures: Zimmermann unveils new Chelsea boutique
Luxury Australian womenswear and accessories brand Zimmermann has opened a 3,197 sq ft boutique on Sloane Street in Chelsea, adding to its Mayfair store, which opened on Bruton Street in 2017.
Set over two floors, and designed by long-term collaborators Studio McQualter, the boutique’s prominent corner position has informed the design approach, leveraging natural light to bring warmth into the space.
The building’s historic character is highlighted from the façade through to the interior, reflected in the refurbished store front with expansive windows, new awnings and “mirrored reveals”.
Creative Director Nicky Zimmermann, who co-founded the business with her sister and the brand’s Chief Operating Officer, Simone Zimmermann, said: "It’s incredibly exciting to open our Sloane Street boutique - I love being in London and have so many great mates here, so it’s a nice feeling to introduce this new boutique to everyone.
"It’s been a project we have worked on for a long time, and I love that the space immediately feels warm - the palette and finishes are layered with amazing art and furniture to encourage tactile exploration of the collections."
Founded in in Sydney as a fashion-forward swimwear business in 1991, Zimmermann now specialises in luxury womenswear, including clothing, handbags, footwear and accessories. The brand is also available at leading luxury retailers, including Harrods, Selfridges, Net-A-Porter, and Mytheresa
Though the founding sisters remain in the driving seat, Zimmermann was acquired by Advent International in 2023. It reported $645.7 million in annual sales in 2025 and is now valued at $1 billion, the highest valuation ever for an Australian fashion brand.
The new London boutique builds on Zimmermann’s global expansion, following openings in Abu Dhabi, Ibiza, Nice, Venice and Mykonos.
