In Pictures: Umbro launches second ‘Northern Quarter’ collection for AW25
British sportswear brand Umbro is launching the second instalment of its ‘Northern Quarter’ collection on 20 August, with a nod to Manchester’s music scene for AW25 and an accompanying new campaign.
It follows on from the first Northern Quarter collection for SS25, “continuing to riff on the spirit of creative renewal”.
Taking inspiration from Umbro’s rich archive and football heritage, the latest Northern Quarter collection reinterprets classic silhouettes and graphics “through a contemporary lens”, resulting in a mix of casual sports-inspired streetwear.
Helene Hope, Head of Global Brand Marketing at Umbro, said: “Music has always been a pillar of Mancunian culture. For that reason, it was a natural focal point for the AW25 iteration of the Northern Quarter collection.
“With Manchester at its heart, the collection celebrates Umbro’s roots, whilst always looking forward, designing clothes for the creatives of today.”
A hero piece for the season is the Umbro ‘Reversible Crew Top’. The front side of the garment takes design cues from contemporary lightweight training tops, while the reverse features a striking ‘club night’ graphic.
Key outerwear styles include the ‘Waxed Cagoule’, inspired by the intersection of football culture and streetwear, and the ‘Fleece Coach Jacket’, a classic style delivered in chunky sherpa fleece, emblazoned with Umbro’s distinctive oversized double diamond motif.
Shot at Soup, a music venue and Northern Quarter institution, the accompanying campaign is fronted by a group of musicians and acts who perform at the venue, as well as staff members.
Umbro's Northern Quarter AW25 collection will be available on the Umbro website and through selected stockists from Wednesday, 20 August.
