In Pictures: The Industry meets Peter Williams, chairman of boohoo and Sophia Webster
The Industry staged its latest in conversation event with one of fashion and retail's most respected senior directors Peter Williams at W London last night.
Williams took the audience through his long and distinguished career, which has included leadership roles with some of the industry's best-known names including Selfridges, ASOS, boohoo and Sophia Webster to name just a few.
He offered his insight on how the businesses he worked with transformed and grew – demonstrating the story of the rejuvenation of Selfridges from a tired department store to one of the world's most exciting retail destinations via the evolution of its carrier bags – and gave his view on the challenges the industry is currently facing.
After the talk Williams took part in a Q&A with the audience, which overran due to the high volume of questions asked, offering his advice to the many startups, entrepreneurs and innovators present including guests from companies such as: Avery Dennison, Yieldify, ASOS, Hearst Publishing, Harper Concierge, Sarah Angold, Air & Grace, The Student High Street, Hero App, I Heart Studios, Made of Carpet, WattsWatt Magazine, Moda Firma, Fashion SVP, Moda and Gizelle Renee, among others.
