In Pictures: The Industry meets Fashion's Female Founders

Lauretta Roberts
01 March 2018

Three of fashion's most inspirational female entrepreneurs took to the stage at the last event in our series of The Industry meets... at W London – Leicester Square.

Each of the entrepreneurs had founded different businesses at different ages and stages in their lives but all had invaluable insight to offer the assembled guests who had braved the snow to come and listen.

Jane Lewis, founder and creative director of premium fashion brand Goat, revealed how she has grown her brand from her kitchen to a multi-national, multi-channel business with no external funding.

Former Marks & Spencer retail marketing director Nayna McIntosh told her story of leaving a plum job on the British high street at the age of 51 to take her first steps into entrepreneurialism with the establishment of Hope Fashion. While Bunks founder Rachel Smith-Bingham explained why she gave up a top job in management consulting to launch a luxury swimwear brand for men and boys.

Guests drank Moet & Chandon Champagne while networking in the newly renovated bar at the central London hotel before heading to its screening room to listen to the talk which was moderated by The Industry editor in chief Lauretta Roberts.

Our next event will take place in the same location from 5pm on 10 April when we will be in conversation with Boohoo and Sophia Webster chairman Peter Williams. Individual tickets are available to buy now priced at £45 + booking fee. Please visit our ticket buying page here.
