In Pictures: Roberto Cavalli launches Zebra 2000 collection 'paying homage to his memory'
Roberto Cavalli has launched a limited-edition capsule collection called ‘Zebra 2000’, inspired by the designer’s iconic zebra slip dresses but with a modern reinterpretation by the brand’s Creative Director Fausto Puglisi.
As a celebration of Roberto Cavalli’s legacy, seven iconic archival runway looks were showcased during the finale of the brand’s SS25 fashion show yesterday, 18 September, as part of Milan Fashion Week (running from 17-23 September).
The creations are said to embody Cavalli’s "untamed creativity and his love for wild glamour". They also capture defining moments in early 2000s fashion and pop culture.
Paying homage to his memory, Fausto Puglisi has reimagined 10 pieces in total, inspired by a selection of archive pieces, including long and short slip dresses, a shirt, t-shirt, bodysuit, and two styles of jeans in various vibrant colourways.
"I’ve always had an affinity with Roberto and have drawn multiple inspirations from his visionary work as I stepped in as Creative Director," said Puglisi.
"I thought it was important to celebrate his legacy by reinterpreting some of his most iconic creations. That’s how this capsule collection was born."
The limited-edition line is available exclusively on the Roberto Cavalli website and at the Milan boutique on Via Monte Napoleone.
