Luxury multi-brand concept store The Shop at Bluebird has officially opened the doors to its new home at Carriage Hall in the heart of Covent Garden.

Set over three floors the store houses a selected mix of designers and artists over 15,000 sq ft of a historic coach house. Brands include Chloe, Alexander McQueen, Peter Pilotto, Victoria Beckham, Racil, Galvan, Temperley London and Ports 1961, alongside contemporary labels like Isa Arfen, Rixo London, Ganni and Forte Forte.

The 19th century Grade II-listed building is characterised by a large, hidden courtyard with three galleried floors built around it. Light floods in through the glass ceiling, while the eclectic and whimsical décor and props create a ‘Playground of Wonders’ theme.

A restaurant and roof terrace will open on the top floor in the summer while Blink Brow Bar, Italian lifestyle brand Fornasetti and the Avery Perfume Gallery all dedicated spaces in the store. A wall of artworks features on the first floor, curated exclusively by William Ling from the Fashion Illustration Gallery.

Claire Miles, buying director for The Shop at Bluebird, which is part of the Jigsaw group and which first opened in the King's Road 12 years ago, said: "For the past 12 years, The Shop at Bluebird has been London's best keep secret. A place to shop for luxury fashion, contemporary art and industry favourite beauty brands in a setting unlike anywhere else in our city.

"Our success story until now is the foundation of our new home in central London, where we have created a whole new chapter for the brand and taking experiential retailing to another level," she said.

The interior of the store was created by award-winning retail designers Dalziel & Pow. Creative director David Dalziel said of the project: "The Shop at Bluebird, Carriage Hall, Covent Garden is one of those rare opportunities in retail design – a great site and a brave client who can see the potential in creating a benchmark retail experience.

“The premium brand offer of The Shop at Bluebird is a potent one, helped by the landlord’s ambitions to re-generate the previously quiet ‘back streets’ of Covent Garden. This can become the ‘must-see’ fashion lifestyle store in London,” he added.

The Shop at Bluebird took its name from The Bluebird restaurant on the King's Road beneath which the original store was located. Its relocation to Covent Garden has no effect on the restaurant, which is owned by a separate company. Jigsaw also operates three other versions of the concept store, The Duke Street Emporium in St James's, The Chapel in The Duke of York's Square, King's Road and on High Street, Guildford.
