Frasers Group has today opened a newly refurbished branch of its luxury fashion chain Cruise in the heart of the city of Glasgow on Ingram Street, as Scottish non-essential retail reopens after lockdown.

Spanning four floors and a mezzanine, the store features a brand portfolio of emerging designers and luxury's biggest names including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Balmain and Burberry.

Frasers Group head of elevation Michael Murray said the project had been 18 months in the planning and represented a multi-million pound investment, adding: “CRUISE Glasgow to those in Scotland, is known as an institution of luxury specialist retailing and thus, we’re pleased to be raising-the-bar for retail in the city.”

Designed by Argent, whose international portfolio includes experiential retail, luxury yachts and residences, the opening demonstrates the group’s "commitment to investing in bricks-and-mortar and reinventing the luxury sector".

Jack Bridges, Partner at Argent Design said: “The ambition when designing this store was to create a luxury retail destination which can evolve with the seasons. You enter into a space adorned with bold prints contrasted with translucent and reflective materials for a dynamic futuristic feel. The palette consists of pastels and playful colours to give the store an opulent yet young and contemporary feel. With the sleek architectural design, the new store will become a global luxury playground.”

Frasers Group is forging ahead with an expansion of its retail network with 10s of new stores, including multi-brand stores containing its Sports Direct, USC and Evans Cycles brands, a mini-chain of high end department stores under the Frasers fascia, and a rapid expansion of its luxury chain Flannels.

This investment in new and existing stores is all part of Frasers Group's wider "elevation strategy" which is being led by Murray.
