In Pictures: COS arrives in Edinburgh with new store in St James's Quarter

COS has opened the doors of its first store in the Scottish capital, located in the newly opened St James's Quarter retail and residential destination in the heart of Edinburgh. 

The new store embodies the COS brand philosophy and sustainable materials alongside recycled and repurposed materials are employed throughout the space to support the brand’s goal to reduce store CO2 emissions while maximising the lifecycle of all its interior.

Impactful external clay cladding created by MATTEOBRIONI, the Italian creator of clay for architecture, adorns the outside of the 352sqm store and also features on internal fixtures. It was created using TerraVista fine-grained finishing plaster, which honours traditional techniques by pre-selecting clays and aggregates from various territories, which are then blended together to create a natural, tactile surface.

Inside the minimalist space showcases the H&M Group brand's SS23 collection, which channels COS's signature understated approach to affordable luxury. The collection pays close attention to construction with an emphasis on shapes and form with tailoring reinvented in light seasonal linen and seersucker. Soft leather jackets and structured trench coats elevate the everyday, transitioning seamlessly to the evening. Broderie anglaise sits loosely on the body while hand-drawn abstract florals adorn coordinating sets in fresh new colourways.

Customers visiting the store, located on level 3 of St James's Quarter, during 17–19 March can enjoy DJ sets and complimentary seltzers.
