In Pictures: CDLP unveils SS26 campaign fronted by choreographer Alexander Ekman

Swedish luxury essentials brand CDLP has launched a new ‘Ribbed Essentials’ collection for SS26, with a campaign starring Swedish choreographer, director and former professional ballet dancer, Alexander Ekman.

The campaign “explores the relationship between movement, creativity and the garments closest to the body”.

Ekman, who before becoming a renowned choreographer danced with major companies including the Royal Swedish Ballet, is known for visually striking and concept driven works that bridge contemporary dance, theatre, music and visual art.

From the global success of ‘Play at the Paris Opera Ballet’ to his celebrated production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, and most recently his direction of the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Paralympic Games, Ekman has established himself as one of the most distinctive choreographic voices of his generation.

Photographed by CDLP co-founder and Creative Director, Christian Larson, the campaign is shot in a hotel room and features “a series of intimate, unscripted moments” – with Ekman modelling the ‘Ribbed Essentials’ SS26 range and demonstrating how the garments are “designed to move naturally with the wearer”.

Christian Larson said: “Alexander Ekman represents a unique mix of artistry, integrity and joie de vivre – which resonates perfectly with CDLP. Being allowed to capture a glimpse of his colourful, private universe of constant creation was a rare privilege.”

The ‘Ribbed Essentials’ collection, includes the ‘Slim-fit Rib T-shirt’ and the ‘Rib Tank Top’ - both made from a unique blend of Tencel Lyocell, a fibre derived from certified renewable wood sources that provide silk-like softness and “superior breathability”, and pima cotton, an extra long fibre that provides a rich texture.

There’s also the ‘Y-Brief’, designed with a low waist and CDLP’s signature waistband, and again made from Tencel Lyocell which has natural moisture-wicking properties.

The new collection is now available on CDLP’s website, in its flagship store in Stockholm and through selected retailers worldwide.
