Barbour, best known for its outerwear to meet the harsh weather demands of the South Shields coastline where it's based, as well as its world-renowned country clothing, has teamed up with Brazilian womenswear brand Farm Rio for its latest collaboration.

The collaboration brings Barbour’s heritage craftsmanship together with Farm Rio’s bold prints and “playful spirit”, spanning outerwear, ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories.

It’s described as “one of the most exciting launches of AW25 and a fresh way to look at countryside dressing”.

Shot on the rolling landscapes of the Cotswolds with British model Imogen Waterhouse, the accompanying campaign “sets the scene for a dreamlike meeting of worlds”.

The collection also introduces three exclusive prints, blending Farm Rio’s signature botanical motifs with Barbour’s heritage family tartans.

There’s a pink tartan print with embroidered pineapple embellishments, and a tropical print which updates a classic scarf design with intricate borders and details, including a Brazilian jaguar and pineapple crown “celebrating two of the rainforest’s most iconic symbols”.

Florals add a more feminine touch, while a green and pink palette runs through the collection. There’s also a pineapple print which blends rich gold tones with deeper forest greens.

Nicola Brown, Barbour's Director of Womenswear, said: “This is a collaboration in every sense of the word, with the most-loved features that encapsulate the spirit of each brand fused together to create a full collection with irresistible character. We are so excited to see this collection launch and for the beautiful prints to be worn and enjoyed.”

Katia Barros, Farm Rio's co-founder and Creative Director, added: “This collaboration brings together Farm Rio and Barbour's shared love of nature as its primary inspiration.

“The collection beautifully balances British heritage, evident in classic silhouettes and timeless patterns, with the wild beauty of Brazil, expressed through bold colour combinations, spirited motifs and complementary details like embroidered patches on tailored outerwear.

“We believe the final product beautifully captures and translates the spirit of both brands, telling a story of tropical romance.”

Key pieces in the collection include the Barbour x Farm Rio ‘Ana-Clara Quilted Jacket’ in pink tartan with exotic pineapples placed across the diamond quilting, and the wrapped ‘Thais Mini Skirt’ which features exclusive patchwork prints, crafted from cotton twill.

Its been a busy time for Farm Rio in the UK this year, having opened a flagship store on London’s Carnaby Street in May, swiftly followed by an exclusive pop-up in Selfridges, which ran until 20 June. The Brazilian brand opened its first UK store at 86 King’s Road in Chelsea in January 2024, and its second at 26 Marylebone High Street in November.
