In Pictures: Adidas and JD Sports open London-inspired corner shop
Sportswear brand Adidas Originals and retailer JD Sports have opened up a London-inspired corner shop pop-up dubbed ‘Campus Stores’ in celebration of the iconic Campus 00s silhouette.
From its beginnings on basketball courts of the 1970s to its rise as a hip-hop staple in the 1980s, the Adidas Campus has continually bridged the gap between performance wear and street style. Today, the legacy of the sneaker silhouette lives on and remains "a timeless icon for today's generation".
Celebrating London's culture, and Adidas Campus, the corner shop pays homage to the legendary trainers and their influence on skateboarding, basketball and music.
Held in the heart of central London on Eastcastle Street, the pop-up offers visitors the chance to pick up a fresh pair of Campus 00s, enter the Campus Lotto to win Originals items and customise new kicks.
A select number of fans secured their spots through the Adidas CONFIRMED app and have been treated to unique corner shop items including ‘Campus Crunch’ cereal, Adidas Originals chocolate bars and all-you-can-take pick-and-mix lace stations, as well as other offie-essentials.
This comes after Adidas brought its premium retail concept, dubbed 'The Pulse', to the UK on Friday 28 June. The new digitally-infused 11,000 sq ft store in Fort Kinnaird, Edinburgh is the brand’s first ‘The Pulse’ on British soil. Shoppers can browse Adidas’ range from trainers and gym wear to running gear and accessories.
