H&M has churned out countless designer collaborations, democratising luxury by bringing it to the high street over the past two decades. However, few like Magda Butrym's have become so coveted in the lead-up to its release. TheIndustry.fashion peaked behind the H&M curtain to reveal its latest designer collaboration.
Magda Butrym is a Polish fashion designer known for her romantic, feminine designs that blend modern silhouettes with traditional Polish craftsmanship. Her womenswear collection, titled 'Femininity in Bloom', is coming to the high street on 24 April.

Butrym's romantic, Slavic style has been reimagined into a "super feminine and effortlessly poetic" collection of womenswear, accessories and jewellery centred around her trademark rose motif.

This collaboration marks the 10th anniversary of the Magda Butrym ready-to-wear brand, offering a chance for the designer to dip back into her beloved archive. It features various iconic garments from the house’s history, from diaphanous dresses that recall petals and blooming flowers through to wide-shouldered tailoring and structured, oversized coats.

Butrym's favourite piece? The long-line leather coat in burgundy that brings structure and dimension to the ultra-feminine line-up. The designer showcases her skill for combining diaphanous dresses with tough, structural elements juxtaposed by sequin mini dresses and ruffled gowns that conjure the image of a bouquet of red roses.

Madga Butrym said: "I really see this collection as a chance to invite people into our world – and to celebrate femininity and the flower. Each piece brings its own sense of Slavic romance, while paying homage to the history of our brand."

In has been 20 years since H&M’s first creative union with Karl Lagerfeld. Since then, the high street retailer has teamed up with Versace, Kenzo, Jimmy Choo, Mugler and many more to create sell-out limited edition collections. Last year, in celebration of its 20 year anniversary collaborating with iconic designers, H&M launched the Pre-Loved Archive collection for those who didn't get a chance to snap up their favourite designer collaborations at launch.
