Iconic Ibizan boutique reVOLVER launches its own label

Iconic Ibizan boutique reVOLVER has has launched its first own-label collection re:001, available exclusively in-store and on www.revolveribiza.com.

re:001 comprises 10 styles for women and 12 for men, with prices starting from €79 rising to €325. The aesthetic combines the spirit of Ibiza blended with the avant garde and sports luxe.

reVOLVER founders Catherine and Jean-Paul Sanchez created the collection in collaboration with design director Cat van Baal.

In a bid to encourage a more sustainable approach to fashion consumption and to do away with the seasonal approach, only one re:001 collection will be released each year.

Stand out pieces include prints featuring abstracted prints of the disused windmill opposite the DC-10 nightclub on the island and a day-to-night jumpsuit for women. All pieces are produced in the monochrome palette the store is famous for. 

“We set out to capture the unique spirit of Ibiza. Across all the island’s many personalities, the one constant is being ‘free’, a mental and physical freedom that liberates the soul. re:001 and the reVOLVER brand represent this freedom that only Ibiza can achieve,” said Jean-Paul Sanchez.

The collection, produced in Portugal, has been created with sustainability in mind. All packaging and labels are 100% recycled and over 60% of the line is made of organic cotton and BCI (Better Cotton initiative) approved yarns, Viscose Ecovera (50% less emissions than standard Viscose) and Tencel (less water than conventional cotton). 

reVOLVER opened in 2008 and quickly established itself as a go-to store for DJs, club-kids and the style-savvy jet-set, offering collections from designers such as Rick Owens DRKSHDW and Y-3 by Yohji Yamamoto. As well as the boutique in Ibiza Town, the brand also has a pop-up concession at Blue Marlin Ibiza offering luxury sunglasses by the likes of Linda Farrow, Dita and Mykita. 

“We started reVOLVER boutique in the shadows of the global financial crisis and are now launching the reVOLVER brand in the shadows of a global health pandemic. Perhaps it’s Ibiza’s ‘free spirit’ that allows us to push on regardless?” said Catherine Sanchez. 

While the brand will be exclusive to reVOLVER initially, there are plans to widen distribution after launch.
