Hush debuts first ever collection created by in-house interns

Women’s fashion and lifestyle brand Hush is launching an Intern Collection on its UK website on Friday 13 May, created by five budding in-house interns who have worked across the brand’s design, garment tech, buying, merchandising and sustainability teams.

The nine-piece capsule collection features bold prints and laid-back staples and every piece has been sustainably sourced. Design inspiration was drawn from artist Vernon Panton’s work, whose aesthetics featured heavily in the 1960s.

An eye-catching floral print is the collection’s main motif, hand-drawn by the in-house design intern who has since been promoted to a permanent Assistant Designer position.

In addition to fostering the young talent, Hush has also partnered with Hackney Empire, a theatre supporting the next generation of storytellers and creators.

The partnership will see Hush contribute 20% of profits from sales of pieces from the Intern Collection to Hackney Empire’s Creative Futures Programme, an initiative designed to nurture and support local young artists and creatives by allowing access to a year-round free programme of events, workshops and development courses.

Mandy Watkins, Founder of Hush, said: “Everyone here is so excited to see what our interns have achieved and we can’t wait to share the results of their talents and hard work with the launch of our first-ever Intern Collection.

“I feel very fortunate to work in a place where every day I’m surrounded by so many bright, enthusiastic young people, and I love that we can give them the opportunity to explore their creativity, either via our own intern programme or via our partnership with Hackney Empire’s Creative Futures programme.”

The Intern Collection will be available exclusively on the Hush UK website from Friday, with prices ranging from £5 - £99.
