Hunter, the British bootmaker, has confirmed that Alasdhair Willis is leaving the brand after seven years as Creative Director, standing down from his role on 31 July 2020.

Willis will stay on as a Senior Advisor to its parent company, Atypical Partner, where he will collaborate with, and advise, current and future portfolio companies.

Hunter will continue its strategic review of the business to best position it for long term sustainable and profitable growth. The review will cover all aspects of the business.

Willis has been at Hunter as Creative Director since 2013, having introduced a number of collaborations whilst at the brand, including Stella McCartney, Dover Street Market, Disney and the children's series Peppa Pig.

In celebration of the brands Original Wellington Boot, Hunter created the Original Flying Boot.

Earlier this month, Hunter secured a £16.5m rescue deal to secure its future after its sales were hit by the COVID-19 crisis.

Subsequently, it was announced that revealed that Chief Executive Vincent Wauters will also leave his role on 31 July 2020 to pursue new opportunities.

Atypical Partner’s Founder, Mauro Morretti, said: "Alasdhair brought incredible creative flair and drive to Hunter, its products and the unique collaborations he has been able to bring to life.

"All of us will remember for a long time the Wellington boot hot air balloon travelling around the globe. We are very fortunate to have him support Atypical and look forward to putting his gifted mind to new opportunities across our portfolio as a senior advisor.”
