Hugo Boss names new CFO and COO as Yves Müller steps down

Hugo Boss Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer Yves Müller is leaving the German fashion group’s Managing Board, with Ivica Maric taking over both roles on 1 October.

Hugo Boss said Müller had stepped down from his mandate at his own request for personal reasons. Maric, currently Executive Vice President Business Operations, will join the Managing Board with responsibility for finance and operations. He will inherit a combined remit that Müller has held since 2022.

Maric’s route to the Managing Board

Maric joined Hugo Boss in 2005 and moved through senior roles in controlling and accounting before becoming Senior Vice President of controlling in 2012. He then took responsibility for business operations in 2022 and was appointed Executive Vice President Business Operations in 2023.

Michael Murray, Chair of Hugo Boss’s Supervisory Board and Chief Executive of Frasers Group, commented on Maric's "many years of experience" within the finance department. "In addition, in recent years he has implemented and driven key digitalization and efficiency projects and therefore brings the expertise required for this position.”

Müller, who has now left the company, first joined Hugo Boss as CFO in December 2017 and in May 2022 took on operations while retaining the CFO post, with his remit expanding to cover purchasing and procurement, as well as production, logistics and IT.

“Yves Müller has played a decisive role in the successful implementation of CLAIM 5 and made an important contribution to the financial and operational strength HUGO BOSS has today," Chief Executive Daniel Grieder said.

He added: “At the same time, I look forward to continuing our good collaboration with Ivica Maric in his new role.”

Frasers’ stake and the 2026 outlook

Frasers is already Hugo Boss’s largest shareholder, having increased its position to 47.89% following further acceptances of its takeover offer which officially launched on 10 June, and valued Hugo Boss at around €2.7 billion.

Since launching the offer, Frasers has repeatedly reaffirmed its ambitions to cross the 50% threshold for a takeover of the company. Earlier in September, Hugo Boss ended a €200 million share buyback after Frasers reaffirmed that ambition. The Managing Board linked its decision to end the programme early directly to Frasers’ intention to cross the 50% threshold and the retail group’s review of its support for Hugo Boss Supervisory Board Chairman Stephan Sturm.

Michael Murray became Supervisory Board Chair on 16 September, after his predecessor Sturm said he would step down following discussions with Frasers.

The Supervisory Board oversees the Managing Board, which Maric is joining. Frasers Group has said before that if it does cross the 50% threshold, then it would look to potentially install its own CEO, Michael Murray, to lead the German luxury brand.

Hugo Boss launched its CLAIM 5 TOUCHDOWN framework in December 2025, with the strategy running through 2028. It has described 2026 as a year of planned realignment across its brands and channels, intended to strengthen the position of BOSS and HUGO while improving profitability.

In its second-quarter results, Hugo Boss reported currency-adjusted sales down 9% in the quarter and 8% in the first half of 2026. Second-quarter EBIT was €59 million, with a 6.5% EBIT margin. The group reaffirmed its forecast for a mid- to high-single-digit decline in currency-adjusted annual sales and EBIT of €300 million to €350 million.
