British womenswear brand Hobbs, which along with Whistles, Phase Eight and Damsel in a Dress is owned by TFG London, is set to open a new store at the Metrocentre in Gateshead on 17 November 2022.

Taking over the former Suit Direct unit in the Upper Platinum Mall, the new store will be nestled in between Kuoni and Paperchase and opposite fellow fashion retailers Tessuti, Joules and Phase Eight.

Suit Direct has relocated and upsized to accommodate the new arrival, taking on a new unit alongside Jack Wills in the shopping centre.

Ben Cox of Sovereign Centros, Senior Asset Manager for Metrocentre, commented: ‘We’re proud to welcome Hobbs to Metrocentre. With a classic and sustainable product offering, the store will provide customers with further quality choice in womenswear and develop our current portfolio of fashion retailers and premium brands.

“Hobbs will shortly be joined by Jo Malone London and a number of new names in the coming weeks. The addition of these quality brands is part of the wider business plan for the centre, the prime destination for shoppers in the region. The centre’s growth is clear and we’re excited to continue our evolution.”

Hobbs Metrocentre

With all pieces designed in its London studio, Hobbs aims to offer quality and affordability to its North East customers through its new Metrocentre store, “with garments that are always elegant, sophisticated and endlessly versatile”.
