H&M unveils Baz Luhrmann film to mark ERDEM collection

H&M has today unveiled "The Secret Life of Flowers" - a cinematic film created by visionary film director Baz Luhrmann to mark the ERDEM x H&M collection which hits stores on 2 November.

The film is set in a mysterious country mansion where it is “always spring”. The house is like its own private world that is always filled with flowers, influenced by ERDEM’s celebrated floral prints, which feature strongly in the collection.

When young friends come to stay "a magnetic love triangle begins" in the film, which stars upcoming actors Tom Rhys Harries, Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Ruby Dagnall. Acclaimed actress Harriet Walker also stars along with supermodels Saskia de Brauw, Imaan Hammam, Grace Hartzel, Fernando Cabral, Neels Visser and Tony Ward.

“I wanted the film to be like a whole movie. It’s a very modern love story, set in a country house that is full of its own secrets and it’s like a metaphor for our times - it’s harsh out there in the world, but in here, the things that really matter keep growing in an eternal spring," said Luhrmann.

Throughout, this film pieces from the ERDEM x H&M collection are used to define the characters, while a new track "Hypnotised" by Years & Years was conceived to capture the mood of positivity, friendship and love.

ERDEM x H&M will be available in selected stores and at hm.com on 2 November. The British-based designer was revealed as the next H&M collaborator in July and his collection for the store will feature his first menswear designs.
