H&M to open Weekday store on Regent Street

H&M is extending its Weekday footprint with new stores opening this summer in Paris and on London's Regent Street.

The Swedish group already has an H&M flagship, a COS and & Other Stories stores on Regent Street, which has undergone a major regeneration in recent years with a slew of international brands setting up shop including Michael Kors, Coach, Polo Ralph Lauren, Lululemon and Kate Spade.

Weekday, which is known for its denim offer and minimalist staples, currently has 27 stores throughout Europe and the latest openings will be the first in the UK and France. The Paris store will open in La Vieille du Temple in Le Marais district.

"The UK and France have always been on the agenda for our European expansion, as both cities are fashion capitals. To open on Regent Street in London is a big opportunity for us, as it is one of the world’s premier shopping destinations,” said Weekday managing director David Thörewik.

“Rue Vieille du Temple is the epitome of current and youthful fashion in Paris. We are confident that our modern and mindful approach to fashion will be a great fit for both these two new locations,” he said.

As well as COS, & Other Stories and Weekday, H&M also owns the Cheap Monday and Monki brands. When the group published its 2016 results last week its CEO Karl-Johan Persson said it was planning to launch "one or two" more brands during 2017.
