H&M to open "country leading" new store at Lakeside

H&M has announced it will open a new concept store at Lakeside shopping centre, offering consumers a reimagined "welcoming, modern and meaningful shopping experience".

Opening 29 September, the redeveloped location is described by H&M as "a country leading store for the brand". Customers visiting the new Lakeside store will notice a warmer, more welcoming interior and relaxed environment, with a lower volume of products displayed.

Founded in Sweden in 1947, H&M opened its first U.K. store in 1976. Over forty years later, H&M’s U.K. and Ireland portfolio has grown to include more than 200 stores. With sustainability at the heart of its business model, H&M continues to play a part in the transition to circular, climate positive fashion.

Sustainability values will be built into the foundation of the new Lakeside store which offers H&M’s Garment Collection and Recycling service. Launched in 2013, H&M’s Garment Collection and Recyling scheme allows customers to donate any unwanted clothes and textiles, by any brand, whilst shopping in-store. All donated items are recycled with 0% going to landfill.

Henrik Nordvall, Country Manager for H&M UK and Ireland, said: “We can’t wait to re-open our Lakeside store this month. It is always our aim to offer our customers a modern and meaningful shopping experience and by introducing H&M HOME, along with our Ladies, Mens, Divided, Kids and Accessories ranges, we are confident that our new Lakeside store will offer exactly this.”
