H&M opens a new experiential store in Angel Central

H&M has taken a user-friendly and customer-centric approach when designing its latest brick-and-mortar store in Angel Central.

Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) opened the doors to the brightly lit new unit last Friday, presenting a fresh interactive experience for loyal customers in the heart of Islington. This state-of-the-art design includes a space for H&M HOME, as well as womenswear, childrenswear, and menswear. Click-and-collect lockers are available, as well as self-service checkouts for efficiency.

H&M Angel Central “will create a welcoming, modern and meaningful shopping experience where style, creativity, and culture are celebrated. Through introducing new services, like click-and-collect lockers and self-service checkouts, we hope to create a seamless customer experience within our Angel Central store,” remarked Christopher Clare, H&M UK and IE Expansion Manager.

The Swedish brand, founded in 1947, opened its first UK store in 1976 and now boasts a portfolio of over 200 stores. Today, the company strives to display its products in a minimal, curated display while ensuring sustainability lies at the heart of each venture.

Asset Manager at CBRE Investment Management, Ciara Daffy, commented: “H&M has been an important retail anchor at Angel Central for many years and has built a solid foundation within the community of Islington. The brand’s refurbishment elevates the store with a refreshed interior and enhanced customer experience, and its emphasis and focus on sustainability very much mirrors the ethos of Angel Central. We’re confident that this brand will continue to thrive and prosper within our revitalised scheme.”

Sustainable values are a focal point of the new Islington store, which offers a Garment Collection and Recycling service. Launched in 2013, this scheme allows customers to donate any unwanted clothes and textiles, by any brand, whilst shopping in-store. All donated items are recycled with 0% going to landfills, with hopes to combat the climate crisis and lead towards complete circularity. To further encourage customers to take part in the recycling programme, H&M offers Conscious Points and digital vouchers as rewards.
