H&M appoints new MD for UK & Ireland who started on shop floor
H&M has today announced the appointment of Karen O’Rourke as its new Managing Director for H&M in the UK & Ireland, succeeding Henrik Nordvall.
With over 25 years of experience at H&M, O’Rourke brings a wealth of retail expertise and leadership to her new role, having begun life at H&M on the shop floor.
She has since held 14 roles across store operations, area management and sales markets, most recently as Sales Market Manager for the Nordics where she "successfully led cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience" and boosted growth across multiple regions.
O’Rourke’s appointment marks a strategic step in H&M’s continued commitment to strengthening its presence in the UK and Ireland.
In her new role, O’Rourke will oversee approximately 7,000 colleagues, more than 200 physical stores, and the digital platforms in one of the brand’s most significant markets globally.
O’Rourke said: "I’m excited to lead H&M UK & Ireland as we focus on growth, innovation and deepening our customer connection.
"Our upcoming event at London Fashion Week reflects our commitment to creativity, craftsmanship and a more elevated design direction, and I look forward to building on our strong foundation and driving continued success in this key market."
