Luxury label Hermès is granting a £3,500 (€4,000) bonus to all its employees worldwide at the end of this month, following a highly successful fiscal year 2022.

The bonus follows the news of the company’s 29% increase in revenue to £10.3 billion (€11.6 billion) for 2022, revealing "remarkable" sales growth in all geographical regions.

Net profit reached £2.9 billion (€3.3 billion), representing net profitability of 29%. Annual recurring operating income increased 40.5% to £4 billion (€4.6 billion).

During the presentation of the group’s annual financial results, CEO Axel Dumas also said that the 12,400 employees in France will receive the equivalent of 17 months' salary per year as part of its "value sharing" policy.

Axel Dumas, Executive Chairman of Hermès, said: "In 2022, Hermès had an exceptional year thanks notably to the good performance of its international markets. This success reinforces our approach as an artisanal and highly integrated company: a design house that offers objects conceived to be functional, with an assertive style and uncompromising quality."

In 2022, Hermès created 2,100 jobs. The brand, which employs 6,000 craftsmen, created 1,400 jobs in France alone. Over the past ten years, it has doubled its workforce to meet the supply and demand of the popular brand.
