Hawes & Curtis marks return to Bluewater with new concept store

Classic British menswear brand Hawes & Curtis has returned to Bluewater Shopping Centre for the first time since the Covid pandemic, opening a new concept store that is almost four times the size of its previous unit, which shuttered in 2021 after 11 years of trading.

Located in unit U0004, Upper-Level Rose Gallery, approximately 10 units away from the previous location, the new store is 4,000 sq ft compared to the previous store’s 1,200 sq ft, offering a broader range of products - from tailoring to a full selection of casualwear and accessories - compared with the previous focus on shirting with a limited mainline offering.

The new store also combines the brand’s renowned 150 years of Jermyn Street heritage with a focus on service, including in-store tailoring and alterations, with a relaxed, contemporary aesthetic, “offering a one-stop menswear destination for every lifestyle and occasion”.

The new Hawes & Curtis Bluewater store showcases a thoughtfully curated range of the brand’s expansive product offering, including its popular ‘Shirt Bar’.

The tailoring area has a mix of business staples as well as luxury suiting from the brand’s 1913 collection. There’s also “off-duty essentials” including chinos, Merino wool knitwear, outerwear and handmade premium footwear from Portugal.

Touker Suleyman acquired the British shirtmaker in 2001 for £1, assuming its debts and liabilities, and drove rapid growth.

Hawes & Curtis, which was founded on London’s Jermyn Street in 1913, currently  operates 17 stores across the UK, with its flagship store once again located on Jermyn Street where it all began.
