Harvey Nichols unveils Northern Lights-inspired Christmas display

Harvey Nichols has unveiled its Scandinavia and Northern Lights-inspired Christmas display, which runs across all of its stores in the UK and Ireland.

The ambitious scheme recreates the spectacle of the Northern Lights, which appear to dance across the store's façade in shades of festive green and purple.

Further Scandinavian influence is evidenced in hand-crafted cedar panels draped with garlands while mannequins are adorned with foliage. The upscale department store wanted to evoke a sense of tradition but with a modern elegance.

In addition to the display, Harvey Nichols has transformed the fifth floor of its Knightsbridge store into The Secret Forest, which it describes as an enchanted hideaway where customers can enjoy ice-cream cocktails, a Scandinavian-inspired menu and take part in Saturday schools from 8 November until 5 January.

“We’ve translated the concept of a Scandinavian winterscape to both the interior and the exterior of our flagship store. Every night, the Northern Lights will be projected onto the façade, and the Fifth Floor CANVAS space has been transformed into a cosy and enchanted hideaway – a great place to relax with an ice-cream cocktail and Scandi-inspired snacks. There’s also a Pocket Cinema on Wednesdays and Sundays, where people can get together with family and friends to enjoy classic Christmas movies with ice-cream sundaes," said Deb Bee creative and marketing director at Harvey Nichols.
