Harvey Nichols strengthens leadership with new buying director
British department store Harvey Nichols has promoted Shaun Donnelly to Buying Director for Non Apparel and Menswear.
Donnelly confirmed the appointment in a post on LinkedIn, writing: "[I'm] looking forward to driving the next phase of growth across menswear, footwear and accessories with an incredible team."
He joined Harvey Nichols in June 2025 as Head of Footwear & Accessories.
Before joining the luxury department store, Donnelly worked as a freelance consultant focused on footwear, product and commercial strategy for brands and retailers.
Prior to that, he spent more than a decade at Kurt Geiger, where he held several senior buying positions, including Head of Multi-Brand Buying for Department Store Concessions and Head of Men’s Buying & Design.
The appointment comes as Harvey Nichols continues to implement a three-year transformation strategy announced last year, centred on strengthening its fashion, beauty and hospitality offering.
The plan is aimed at reinforcing the retailer’s position in the luxury market and restoring its status as a leading British retail brand.
Like many luxury retailers, Harvey Nichols has faced pressure in recent years amid changing consumer spending patterns, increased competition and a wider slowdown across the luxury sector.
The department store operates seven stores across the UK and Ireland, including locations in London’s Knightsbridge, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester, Leeds and Dublin.
